Kendal RAF100 Hit by Storm and Rain

A great lot of work went into preparing for Kendal RAF100; our sympathy for all concerned when the second day had to be partially cancelled including a parade of Cumbria and Lancashire Wing Cadets.  The RAFA Stall did quite well raising some £700 for the Wings Appeal.  Below you will see snaps of one the wool crafted spitfires in the roof of a Kendal indoor market, the RAFA site, our Secretary with the Armed Forces Champion and people at the RAFA stall with the replica Spitfire in the background.  Many thanks to the organisers and those of the Branch who attended.

On the Saturday the Spitfire also had a special visitor: Vinnie Smith who is 95, was a Spitfire pilot in World War II and was delighted to be seated in the cockpit once again.
